The first time that I cried,

Ever really cried,

You Were There. And you

Would not wipe my tears.

You let me cry,

Though I was Afraid.

And you let me

Love You,

Though you were Afraid.

And we learned,

Through our laughter,

Learned through our fears,

How not to be

Alone.

And you let me Love You.

And I let You Love Me.

When we learned how to live,

I could be me and

You could be you

And it was okay.

And when Time came

To say our Goodbyes,

For the first time,

I learned

It was not

Goodbye.

And Goodbye

Is not

Forever.
