Don't Cry For Me
a poem by thenorm
as the sunlight
Fades
from my face,
the echoes of yesterday
linger on
where my Words
Time and Again,
tumbled down on
Hollow Ears.
And you say,
'i never asked'
but Did You
Ever Listen?
No, don't cry for me.
Not your River of Tears.
and i,
lost in the aftermath
of your kind of 'love,'
once begged of you
but my Words
better said
to an Indifferent Stranger.
and Once,
Twice, i Cried
i Did Try.
Where Were You
When i,
Surrounded by Shadows,
Needed
a Friend?
No.
Don't You Dare.
Don't You
Cry
For Me.
