You Would Have Had Me
a poem by thenorm
Another game is played
And I am not sorry.
We knew the new age
Could not take our souls.
I knew
Long before you
How to play
These Games.
And in the Morning Light
Basking in each others wine,
No rivers flow,
No shattered dreams.
Just another game.
And you would have had me
As we slipped into the morning.
You would have had me
If you-
If I-
Well-
You would have had me.
