No River of Tears
a poem by thenorm
and when the stars dont crowd The sky,
and my words are growing old,
where be my river of tears to cry?
the walls that sang in sweet reproach
stood so long as i grew cold.
where did my river of tears encroach?
and harmony trees no longer sing;
my life was not my song untold
and my own ways meant not a thing.
o where be my river of tears,
that i may sail thru yonder years?
where did that songbird often sing-
sung he not for me in spring?
voices known my wandring plight,
where be my light shine thru this night?
and voices soft so i may hear,
o poet,
see there be no river of tears.
