You Touched My Soul
a poem by thenorm
I was cold.
I was lonely.
You were there.
My soul was aching,
My heart was breaking
And you cared.
My cool facade
Of Strength,
Of Power
Did not
Phase You Out.
I tried to
Phase You Out.
And You saw me.
And You knew.
In Gallows laughter,
My respite,
I tried to fool you.
I was a fool.
In my heart,
In my soul,
There was
A Healing Touch,
A Gentle Hand.
And you embraced me.
With no great
Actors words,
Empty treasures,
You embraced me.
You touched my soul.
You touched my soul.
